What is the course about?
This exciting new course works in partnership with IRIE! dance theatre, providing you with the experience of working with a professional dance company.
You will acquire a thorough grounding in African, Caribbean, Ballet and Contemporary dance, and gain the necessary skills and knowledge to build a career in areas such as dance performance, education or community arts. The course will also explore the exciting innovative theory and practice of fusion in the selected dance genres.
If you are a dancer or performer with some understanding of dance or performance training and/or experience in the field, this course is ideal.
You may already be working in the industry and want to ground your skills with a formal qualification.
What do I need to get on the course?
160 UCAS points from:
- A Levels in a related subject at Grade C, or equivalent
As well as:
- All applicants will have an audition and interview as part of the selection process
- 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above including English, or equivlent
- IELTS 5.5 (with at least 5.0 in each component,) or equivalent
What can I do after the course?
Successful completion of the course enables you to apply to the final year of an honours degree.
How much does it cost?
The Dance FdA course costs £6,500 per year. You will be required to pay a deposit of £3,000 before you enrol, and complete your payment when you enrol. The fee includes your tuition but does not include any accommodation, living or travel expenses.
