What is the course about?
The Applied Science (Medical) BTEC Extended Diploma course is for students who wish to progress onto a medically-related undergraduate degree, such as biomedical sciences, genetics or radiography.
As well as covering biological and medical sciences, you will also study specialist subjects such as clinical investigations, human physiology and genetic engineering. The course also focuses on practical techniques, including statistics for science technicians, microbiological techniques, physiological measurements and medical instrumentation.
As part of the course, you will have the opportunity to visit laboratories and specialist medical facilities.
What do I need to get on the course?
- To be aged 16-18 on the first day of the course
- 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Science and Mathematics, or equivalent
- IELTS 5.5 (with at least 5.0 in each component,) or equivalent
- Entry onto any course may be subject to a successful interview
How much does it cost?
The Applied Science (Medical) BTEC Extended Diploma course costs £6,500 per year. You will be required to pay a deposit of £3,000 before you enrol, and complete your payment after you have enrolled. The fee includes your tuition, but does not include any accommodation, living or travel expenses.
