What is the course about?
This practical course will give you the skills you need for a successful career in professional
photography. It is specifically tailored to commercial advertising and editorial work, but also covers many essential photographic and transferable skills. A key feature of the course is the involvement of industry in it’s design and delivery plus work-based learning modules, where you will undertake a significant period of industry experience.
Modules include:
- Photographic techniques
- Computers in photography
- Visual language
- Studio and press photography
- Photo journalism
- Advertising photography
- Creating digital images
- Multi-media and exhibition
- Contemporary conceptual and commercial practice
- Fashion, editorial and PR
- Specialist photographic practice
What do I need to get on the course?
160 UCAS points from the following:
- A Levels in a related subject at Grade C, or equivalent
As well as:
- A portfolio of relevant work
- 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above including Mathematics and English, or equivalent
- IELTS 5.5 (with at least 5.0 in each component,) or equivalent
What can I do after the course?
Following successful completion, you can progress to the third year of BA (Hons) Fine Art (Photography) at London Metropolitan University.
How much does it cost?
The Photography FdA course costs £6,500. You will be required to pay a deposit of £3,000 before enrolment, and complete your payment once you have enrolled. The fee includes your tuition, but does not include any accommodation, living or travel expenses.
