What is the course about?
The Foundation Programme in Health and Social Care Professions (Access to Higher Education) course offers three pathways: Nursing, Health & Human Sciences, and Social Work, and brings you up to the point at which you can apply for an undergraduate degree.
Who is the course for?
This course is for students who do not currently meet the standard requirements for direct entry onto an undergraduate degree in a Health and Social Care related subject.
What do I need to get on the course?
- GCSE Mathematics at Grade C or above, or equivalent
- IELTS 6 (with at least 5.0 in each component,) or equivalent
What will I study?
As well as studying specialised modules for your chosen pathway, such as Biology (for the Nursing and Health & Human Sciences pathways) or Social Policy (for the Social Work pathway), the course also includes a focus on communication and teamwork skills. You will also take modules in Information Technology, study skills and professional development.
What qualification will I get?
You will receive an Access to Higher Education Diploma in your chosen pathway.
What can I do after the course?
Following successful completion of the course, you can apply to a range of universities to study for a related undergraduate degree.
How much does it cost?
The Foundation Programme in Health and Social Care Professions (Access to Higher Education) course costs £6,500. You will be required to pay a deposit of £3,000 in before enrolment, and complete your payment once you have enrolled. The fee includes your tuition, but does not include any accommodation, living or travel expenses.
