What is the course about?
If you wish to pursue a career as a forensic technician or a scene-of-crime officer, the Forensic Science BTEC Extended Diploma course is for you.
As well as studying core sciences, ICT and mathematics, you will also study specialist units, including criminology, forensic photography, criminal investigation procedures and forensic media.
You will work in specialist facilities, including a dedicated forensics lab and a purpose built scene of crime. The course enjoys close links with the Metropolitan Police Forensic Services, who present a number of guest lectures each term.
What do I need to get on the course?
- To be aged 16-18 on the first day of the course
- 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Science and Mathematics, or equivalent
- IELTS 5.5 (with at least 5.0 in each component,) or equivalent
How much does it cost?
The Forensic Science BTEC Extended Diploma course costs £6,500 per year. You will be required to pay a deposit of £3,000 before you enrol, and complete your payment after you have enrolled. The fee includes your tuition, but does not include any accommodation, living or travel expenses.
