Who is the course for?
If you want a recognised higher education qualification and begin a successful career in fashion, but don’t have the standard requirements to enter an undergraduate degree directly, the Fashion with Textiles FdA course is right for you.
What do I need to get on the course?
- 1 A Level, at Grade C or above, or equivalent
- 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Mathematics, or equivalent
- IELTS 5.5 (with at least 5.0 in each component,) or equivalent
- A satisfactory portfolio of work
What will I study?
The Fashion with Textiles FdA course offers a combination of work placements in the fashion industry, competitions, assignment work and studio-based study. You will gain valuable experience and develop a range of skills that will enable you to explore and interpret themes for the development of designs. Course modules include garment manufacture, textile print, pattern cutting, fashion design and computer-aided design (CAD).
What qualification will I get?
On successful completion of the course you will receive an FdA in Fashion and Textiles, awarded by London Metropolitan University.
What can I do after the course?
After the Fashion with Textiles FdA course, you can go straight onto the final year of a BA Honours Degree in Textiles Design at London Metropolitan University, leading to a successful career in the fashion industry.
How much does it cost?
The Fashion with Textiles FdA course costs £6,500 per year. You will be required to pay a deposit of £3,000 before you enrol, and complete your payment after you have enrolled. The fee includes your tuition, but does not include any accommodation, living or travel expenses.
